If Wonderland had rapists

Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter

This is what they’d look like. ComingSoon.net has the first look at Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter in Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland. It seems Depp’s Mad Hatter will be to Wonderland as what that guy driving a blacked out van with “Ice Cream” stenciled on the side is to middle schools. An anticipated character who raises the creep factor.

Johnny Depp to play The Riddler, again, maybe

Source: theblemish.com

Soon after the release of The Dark Knight rumors began spreading that execs were looking at Johnny Depp for The Riddler and Philip Seymour Hoffman for The Penguin. Possibly because people watched Depp play Willy Wonka in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and thought, “Hey, Willy Wonka is kind of like The Riddler. So, if Depp can dial down the pedophilic undertones, he’d be perfect. Also, Philip Seymour Hoffman is portly and inadvertently comical, just like The Penguin!”

Depp quickly shot down the rumor saying that he hasn’t been asked. But yesterday, Michael Caine might have confirmed it to MTV at the Toronto Film Festival.

“When Christopher [Nolan] said we were going to do ‘The Dark Knight’ next, I didn’t what that meant in Batman terms,” related Caine, who plays Bruce Wayne’s loyal butler, Alfred Pennyworth. “I said, ‘What’s the story?’ and he said The Joker. I said, ‘Oh, s–t! How are you going to top Jack [Nicholson]?’ He said, ‘Well, I’ve cast Heath Ledger. And I went ‘Ha! I couldn’t top Jack, but if anyone could, maybe Heath could.’ And he did.

“I was with [a Warner Bros.] executive and I said, ‘Are we going to make another one?’ They said yeah. I said, ‘How the hell are we going to top Heath? And he says ‘I’ll tell you how you top Heath — Johnny Depp as The Riddler and Philip Seymour Hoffman as The Penguin.’ I said, ‘S–t, they’ve done it again!’” [Laughs]

There you have it. According to Michael Caine through an unmaed Warner Bros. exec, Johnny Depp might be The Riddler and Philip Seymour Hoffman might be The Penguin despite no confirmation from Christopher Nolan who will actually be the one writing and directing the next installment. So… we’re pretty much back to where we started. Fabulous!

Angelina Jolie to play Catwoman?

Angelina Jolie

Having a worldwide $440 million two week gross and being the best film of the year has gotten everyone talking about who will will play what in the next Dark Knight film. So it comes as no surprise that big stars are already being rumored to play possible villains despite the fact that there is no script. Today, both the Telegraph UK and MTV News report that Angelina Jolie has asked to play Catwoman in the third Dark Knight film. If you need confirmation, here’s Ms Julie Newmar who played Catwoman once in the 60’s.

Ms Newmar, 74, said: “Angelina would own the part. My industry friends tell me she has already made enquiries about the role. I can understand how it would pique her interest. Catwoman is Batman’s one true love.”

She added: “She’s tremendously popular with women because she’s both a heroine and a villainess.”

Other stars rumored to be in the next film include Johnny Depp as The Riddler and Phillip Seymour Hoffman as Penguin. If Christopher Nolan was smart, he’d cast Britney Spears too. She can be one of the Penguin’s henchman. You know, those blubbery little guys with huge thighs that stomp around an ice float and chase baby penguins to eat? Or am I thinking about elephant seals? Whatever, that would work too.

I forgot how hot Johnny Depp is with short hair! Dang he looks as good as he did in the ’80s…if not better!

BTW how cool is that picture of the camera crew along side the car like that for his upcoming movie Public Enemies.

Did Johnny Depp give David Hasselhoff a barber chair?

Sometimes a strange piece of information crosses my path, like the fact the David Hasselhoff and ex-wife Pamela Bach are fighting over an antique barber’s chair. Pamela obviously doesn’t want the Hoff to have it, since she won’t let him back on the property to claim it. This seems like a strange thing to fight over, but then I realized that if anyone tried to make off with my Troll Doll collection I’d feel exactly the same way!

Fortunately for the Hoff, Johnny Depp, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street, has a spare antique barber’s chair for him.

The Hoff, 55, has been fighting ex-wife Pamela Bach, 44, for for the right to return to her LA home to collect an antique barber’s chair.

But Johnny, 44, has saved him the bother by giving him the original throne used in his movie Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street instead.

Hasselhoff’s lawyer, Melvin S. Goldsman, said: “David is just so pleased to have the matter behind him.”

Daily Star

I know that this is a British tabloid and not the most reliable source, but this is probably the most interesting thing I’ve heard of in a long time. As far as I know the Hoff and the sexiest man alive (in my opinion) have no particular connection, unless it’s that the Depp children love the Spongebob Squarepants movie. It features the Hoff, making good fun of himself.

The next question I have to ask is, what do you do with an antique barbers chair? Are they comfortable to sit in? Do you have your own barber shop set up at home complete with barber’s pole? Or do you just like quirky antiques? A barber pole is actually red and white striped because barbers used to perform surgery for people, which in unsophisticated times was just draining blood from someone. The bandages would get stained red and be hung outside to dry, which is why we have a red and white barber’s pole. It’s amazing the little bits of trivia you can find online.

Johnny Depp has appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone six times, once as Captain Jack Sparrow, his character in Pirates of the Caribbean, and once with his co-star in the film, legendary Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards. Some new outtakes of his latest photo shoot with the magazine have hit the web, and they’re predictably gorgeous. Depp is the January 28 cover boy, and in his interview he talked about his lifelong love of music and how he started playing the guitar at age 12.

Rolling Stone
has over 50 photos online of Depp throughout the years. He is shown posing with June Carter Cash and Johnny Cash in 1993 at the infamous Viper Room club he owned, performing on stage with The Butthole Surfers, as well as getting his star on the Walk of Fame in 1999 and being immortalized in cement in front of Grauman’s Chinese Theater in 2005. It’s a nice retrospective of his life since he became famous.
