Bobby Brown is suing Whitney Houston for spousal support and and to change the terms of his child custody arrangement. Their divorce was finalized last month, so Brown’s plea may be come little too late.

Where did all his New Edition and Ghostbuster 2 soundtrack money go (wait, don’t answer that, this is Bobby Brown we’re talking about)? And isn’t he living with one of Whitney’s ex friends? She must not be making enough money to keep him in the lifestyle to which he became accustomed.

TMZ reports on Brown’s excuse to go back to court:

In court documents filed in Orange County yesterday, Brown explains that he was just too screwed up after the breakup to properly handle a custody battle. “After Whitney and I separated, I had nowhere to go and very little money to live on. I was, for all intents and purposes, homeless.” That’s why he failed to respond to Whitney’s petition for custody in time, and why she was ultimately deemed the primary parent.

In Brown’s court filings yesterday, he begged the courts to reconsider, saying that, “I believe I have a wonderful relationship with my daughter Bobbi Kris — a relationship that I would like to see strengthen and grow.”

The man must still be on drugs, and I really hope the court does not reconsider the case as he is just coming across as opportunistic now that Whitney is set to make a comeback. He doesn’t deserve a cent of Whitney’s money. If he cleaned up — like Whitney has — got his act back on the road, and didn’t snort his money away then maybe he wouldn’t have to be having his women support him.

Last week Bobby Brown said that Whitney Houston and him were going to have an amicable divorce for their daughter. This week Brown is suing her for spousal support and is looking to change the custody terms for Bobbi Kristina according to Entertainment Tonight. Brown is saying that he is bringing this lawsuit now because he did not have the money to hire a lawyer when the divorce was finalized. He claims that he has been homeless several times since his marriage to Houston ended. He is also devastated that he lost rights to seeing his daughter.

According to court papers obtained by ET, he is seeking spousal and child support from Houston. The hearing is set for June 15th.

I love that he is asking for child support even though Houston has full custody. Don’t you have to have custody of the child in order to get child support? To me it just sounds like he is seeking money from her because at least she still has a chance of having a career?

In a recent interview Bobby Brown admitted Whitney Houston and him are remaining amicable for Bobbi Christina according to IOL. Brown said, "We’re trying to work everything out so the divorce goes right - not like a Hollywood divorce. We’re friends. I’m really looking forward to her doing her thing, and me doing my thing. And that’s raising a child. It’s beautiful. Our child is beautiful. We just appreciate each other now that we know the direction that we both want to go."

It is so interesting to hear something so normal from a couple that was not so normal.

Rapper Ne-Yo who is working on Whitney Houston’s comeback album says that he is unimpressed by the CD as it is now according to Entertainment Wise. It is same the song performed 8 times. “They all had the one same theme, which was ‘My name is Whitney Houston and this is my triumphant comeback’. We all understand she has gone through a lot. I’m sure we all get that but I think she needs songs about regular everyday life. So that’s what I’m planning to add to the album - songs about everyday emotions.” I guess you can say he feels she needs to get so emotional. 

I wonder if Clive Davis will continue to let Ne-Yo work on the album after these comments?

In what is an incredibly unsurprising decision by the Orange County Superior Court, newly rehabbed Whitney Houston has been granted custody of her 14 year-old-daughter Bobbi Kristina from her marriage with sometimes R&B singer, Bobby Brown.

Here’s the story from The New York Post:

ORANGE, Calif. (AP) — Whitney Houston’s 14-year marriage to Bobby Brown will officially end this month, and she will get custody of their teenage daughter, a judge ruled Wednesday. The singer dabbed her eyes with a tissue as Orange County Superior Court Judge Franz E. Miller ruled that the divorce will become final April 24. Brown did not attend the hearing.

In court, Houston testified that she did not need spousal or child support and that the couple’s 14-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina, could not depend on Brown.

“He’s unreliable,” Houston told the judge. “If he says he’s going to come, sometimes he does. Usually he doesn’t.”

I’m glad Whitney finally seems to be getting her life back together after her marriage to Brown. I missed the ultra glam 90’s Whitney (yes, I know The Bodyguard wasn’t exactly A Star is Born, but by George she did look good in that movie) and it would be good to have her bring back an album after so many rubbish wannabe singers are entering the charts nowadays. It doesn’t look like Brown is going to give up this decision without a fight, though:

Brown’s attorney, Ram Cogan, said he will seek to overturn the judge’s decision.

I don’t know whether Brown would really seek to overturn this decision. Judging by the fact that he was not in court and he had difficulty baliling himself out of jail (after failing to pay child support payments to his child from a previous relationship), I think the chances of him actually showing up to fight the decision look marginal at best.

Clive Davis was recently asked in an interview who are the best two singers according to Scoop. “In my opinion, the best singers in the world are Aretha [Franklin] and Houston, Davis said. “That’s not to knock Carey. Carey is a friend of mine, but I think Mariah would even say those two are the best.” I think he is biased because he worked with both Aretha and Whitney. So I disagree with his choices because I think Mariah has a better voice than Whitney Houston. I wonder what Randy Jackson will have to say about that?

Clive was also asked how Whitney is doing these days, “She looks radiant and is clearly together. She is talking enthusiastically and is articulate.” I love that she is articualte

According to Fox411,  Whitney Houston will begin working on her new album today. Am I the only one who thought she had been working on it?

Fox411 says that Clive Davis has chosen 7 songs for the album and several great producers and song writers for her to work with including R Kelly and Diane Warren. 

It is going to be interesting to see if the long awaited will be as good as she has been looking recently. At least this is the type of album Clive is good at.
