Uma Thurman, 37, is rumored to be engaged to her new boyfriend, Swiss millionaire investment banker Arpad Busson, 44. He was said to have proposed in early October after just a few months of dating, but if that’s true he either didn’t give her a ring or she’s not wearing it out. She has been seen out since, including her infamous appearance at Fashion Rocks in a see-through dress, and she isn’t wearing an engagement ring.
Now Star reports that Uma has asked Arpad to move in with her in NY. He is said to have a home base out of London, so maybe it would be more convenient for her if he’s staying with her while he’s in NY:
After just three months of dating, Uma Thurman has asked multimillionaire financier Arpad Busson to move into her swanky NYC apartment! “Uma likes having Arpad at her side,” explains a friend, noting that Uma and hotelier Andre Balazs broke up “because he always had to work. She doesn’t like being by herself” But Arpad, the father of supermodel Elle Macpherson’s two children, “makes time for her.”

That’s the entire story, so maybe Star is just making it up because there aren’t a lot of details there.
One recent story about Uma that might be true is the claim that she insists on doing her own hair and makeup when she’s on a movie set and refuses professional help. Whitney Bears does that too, but they make it sound like Uma is less stubborn about it and just doesn’t want people fussing over her:
An insider tells Star that whenever Uma works on a movie, she insists on doing her own makeup and styling. In fact, when she starred in the 2005 film Prime, she wore clothes from her own closet. “Uma doesn’t like a lot of fuss,” says the insider, especially when it comes to makeup. “The stylists would try to sneak in touch-ups, and she’d shoo them away.”

Whatever Uma is doing lately, it’s working. She looked positively gorgeous at Fashion Rocks in that gauzy dress that left little to the imagination. Maybe her new romance is giving her a natural glow too.

Uma Thurman’s breast were on full display last night in a gauzy draped black Valentino dress that did little more than shield her from the wind. She chose the daring outfit for the Swarovski Fashion Rocks event, which she co-hosted. When you’re 37 and the roles aren’t coming in you’ve got to kick it up a notch and I think she pulled it off.
Also on the red carpet were Kate Moss in a a Swarovski studded flapper dress she designed herself for Top Shop. It is estimated to be worth $80k and will be auctioned off on eBay for The Princes Trust if Courtney Love didn’t manage to ruin it.
Lily Allen wore a questionable navy blue Chanel gown with an empire waist that didn’t flatter her newly slender figure, but she looked presentable.
Donatella Versace and Iggy Pop personified rock and rock meets fashion with their weathered faces and kick ass style.
Claudia Schiffer was matronly in a gold pencil skirt and poofy black top accented by a big gold belt.
Naomi Watts showed off her amazing post-baby physique in a gorgeous baby blue strapless gown.
Joss Stone shows the self-determination that has ruined her music career by pairing a plain bright pink Calvin Klein dress with white ankle heels.
Heather Graham was lovely but looked like she was trying too hard in a white sleeveless dress that was just a little too low cut. She should have used Uma’s strategy and picked something see through instead.

Uma Thurman’s stalker has been arrested, he’ll appear in court Thursday, after being held in lieu of $10,000 bail.
An obsessed creep has been busted for terrorizing sexy screen star Uma Thurman with a campaign of stalking that included camping outside her house, invading a movie set and penning a bizarre drawing in which she was depicted digging a grave, court papers allege.
Jack Jordan, 35, of California believed that he “loved” the “Kill Bill” star ever since he started stalking her two years ago. He eventually left a letter at her Manhattan apartment that contained a bone-chilling threat, the papers said.
“I feel afraid that if I see you out again with another man, I will want to kill myself. Maybe even after we meet,” he wrote in the missive left at her building last month.
The report actually reads like a complete movie cliché of a stalker – the threats about killing themselves, seeing her with another man would drive him over the edge, time spent by the stalker in a mental hospital, before coming out and lingering near the victims home. Hopefully it doesn’t act out like a Hollywood film for Uma, where her stalker would be deemed not a threat in the eyes of the law. Then he’d continue stalking the successful single woman, being rather more clever and not leaving any evidence for police, so when he breaks into her house and her distressed call is made from her apartment it’s ignored. Then they battle it out in her house, running upstairs, when the exit is down, dramatically leaping down fire escapes, probably doing something nasty to her cat, before she kills him accidentally so she can never be prosecuted. Or she’ll be recued by that guy who she isn’t engaged to, and the movie ends with a wedding, and a man watching her creepily from the shadows. I always like a crap sequel.
I think I’ve missed my true calling. I feel a script coming on…
Anyway, I hope you’re fine Uma. Maybe I’d cast you in my movie. In the meantime she’s busy filming The Accidental Husband and My Zinc Bed, and hosting the Fashion Rocks for the Prince’s Trust 2007 event.

Uma Thurman, 37, is engaged to her Swiss millionaire boyfriend, according to reports. They’ve only been together for a few months, but supposedly Arpad Busson, 44, has proposed to the actress and mother of two.
The ‘Kill Bill’ actress, who has only been dating banker Arpad ‘Arki’ Busson since the summer, was said to be shocked and delighted when Arpad proposed to her last week.
A source said: “They have only been together a few months, but Arpad was determined to snap Uma up as quickly as possible. They make a great couple and are totally smitten with each other.”
The couple are yet to set a wedding date or choose a location for the nuptials.

Thurman and Busson met in July at a dinner in Milan hosted by Gianni Versace and Tony Blair. Busson is an investment banker and earned his fortune through starting his own hedge fund business in 1992. He dated Farrah Fawcett when he was young and was with Elle Macpherson for around three years, fathering two children with her. Busson and Macpherson split up July, 2005.
Wikipedia notes that Macpherson said that Busson would not marry a divorced woman despite having two children with her, as he is a devout Catholic. So either he has changed his mind or this news isn’t true. Thurman divorced her first husband and the father of her two children, Ethan Hawke, in 2004 after rumors of his infidelity with a young Canadian model. She was last linked to hotelier Andre Balazs, and seems to have had a tumultuous relationship with him as there were stories that they broke up several times.
Busson lives in London while Thurman lives in Hyde Park, NY.
