Uma Thurman was on a cruise in Corsica with her millionaire Swiss boyfriend the other day and she thought it would be cool to make fun of the starving kids in Ethiopia. The Daily Mail says it’s because she just stuffed herself, but I know mockery when I see it. Shame on you and your distended stomach Uma. How can you be so insensitive?

In April 2000, Uma Thurman signed a two-year deal with French cosmetics giant Lancome in which she would make $5.8 million for the first two years and $3.1 million for each additional year. The contract lapsed and Lancome affiliates continued to use Uma’s name and face to promote their products. Uma demanded $1 million for the unauthorized use. Now Lancome, in a surprise move, has filed suit against Uma Thurman. The suit alleges “the contract relieves the company of responsibility if third parties use her name and face after the contract lapses.” Uma’s lawyer responded with:

“I thought we were negotiating in good faith,” Fields said Thursday. “I guess the French decided to strike a pre-emptive blow.”

I was confused when I read this because initially I thought Lancome sued Uma for being so ugly. Evidently, that was not the case, but it should have been.

Even though Uma Thurman is known for her acting talent and unique beauty she admits she still feels like she’s the goofy looking kid she once was.

She says, “I had baby fat and a big nose, big lips and big eyes that looked like they were taped to the side of my head. I was tall, really young and I had a funny name. I had not grown into my features. I was just trying to make it from history to English class and still feel good.”

She says her looks made her more ambitious to succeed.

“I didn’t feel doors were going to fly open for me for being cute, so I worked hard at everything.”

Lucky for Uma she grew into those features and has turned out beautifully. Here she is at the 35th Annual Film Society of Lincoln Center Gala Tribute to Meryl Streep yesterday.

Uma Thurman picks up her son, Levon, from what I assume is his 100th day of school.

I assume this because she’s carrying what appears to be a paper hat that says “100th Day of School” on it, and he’s wearing a little badge that has the number 100 on it.

Dude, they never did shit like that at my school. By the time I was Levon’s age, they were too busy worrying that we wouldn’t be properly prepared for our SATs to waste our time making paper hats. I assume that’s why I’m so well-adjusted.

My mother and I had an amusing conversation about this today (my well-adjustedness). She was explaining to me how she almost never left me with a babysitter when I was a kid. She was afraid I’d grow up and have “abandonment issues.” And it’s funny, because I don’t have any abandonment issues, I just have every other issue known to man. So whatever. Here’s the moral: just hire a damn babysitter. It’s not gonna matter in the long run.

Ethan Hawke is about to become a father for the third time. The “Training Day” star has two children with ex-wife Uma Thurman, and he is expecting a third with Ryan Shawhughes, 27, whom he met when she worked as a nanny for his family back when he was with Uma. It is unclear whether the two are living together or engaged at this point, but Ethan’s camp says the actor is pleased at the news of his impending fatherhood:

“I can confirm and they are thrilled,” says Hawke’s rep Mara Buxbaum. “No further details will be made available.”

In the fallout after Uma and Ethan’s split, there were rumors that Hawke was unfaithful, but neither spoke about it publicly. Ethan only had this to say on the couple’s split in a 2006 interview:

“To be honest, [fame] was an undue pressure on my marriage. I didn’t like being famous when I was single, and what it did to my celebrity status to be married to another famous person was a huge pressure — one I didn’t enjoy. And it had nothing to do with her. Nothing to do with her,” Hawke says.

Uma has been linked to a handful of rich suitors since then, but Ethan’s love life has remained very private. In fact, there is only one photo of Ethan and Ryan together, and it was taken in December 2007 as they dined in a restaurant in Manhattan. Ryan bears more than a passing resemblance to Uma. The NY Daily News’ Gatecrasher column says keeping the relationship secret for so long was a ploy to protect Ethan’s image.

“They seem to be trying to rewrite history by saying they waited a whole year, so they could look innocent when word that they were together finally got out,” an “insider” tells the mag.

“He [Ethan] was terrified, because he knew if Uma found out he was with their nanny, she’d blow up and the divorce would get nasty when it had been going relatively well.”

While I don’t agree with cheating on a spouse—especially with a nanny—it seems as though both Ethan and Uma have moved on with their lives and manage to co-parent their kids quite nicely these days. They even schedule movie shoots around their children’s needs, and try to accommodate each other’s careers. My guess is that Uma’s fans and sympathizers will be a lot more offended and upset by this news than she will. Uma seems to be doing quite well without Ethan.

Uma Thurman is already a mother of two from her previous marriage to Ethan Hawke, and her boyfriend of a few months Arki Busson has two children with model Elle Macpherson, but are they planning on expanding their brood together?

Entertainment Wise points out that an otherwise fabulously toned Uma was sporting a little pot belly at the annual Nobel Concert in Norweay, which she hosted.

The dress kind of looks like it’s bunched up around the middle, like maybe when it was first purchased it fit better?

Uma recently admitted that her ex-husband was right, she couldn’t commit to both her career and motherhood.

“(Hawke) claimed I couldn’t be a full-time mother and actress. I insisted I could. But I couldn’t. I really try to give all of myself,â€? Contactmusic quoted her, as saying.

“I wouldn’t even read a script that wasn’t shooting in New York because I needed to be home.

“It’s a very difficult balance. I’ve thought about quitting but I love it too much, and now I’m a single mother so I can’t quit,â€? she added.
