Tom Cruise is cheap

Source: theblemish.com

Bart Simpson

Nancy Cartwright, who does the voice of Bart Simpson among others, donated $10 million last year to Scientology for their Global Salvage effort which “aims to de-aberrate Earth”; code for “ridding mankind of psychological ills and other ‘aberrant’ behavior.” To put the donation in perspective, the face of Scientology, Tom Cruise, only donated $5 million in an installment plan. Page Six posted up numbers of other celebrity donations.

Nancy Cartwright, 50, Patron Laureate Award: $10 million.
Kirstie Alley, 57, Diamond Meritorious Award: $5 million.
John Travolta, 53, Gold Meritorious Award: $1 million.
Kelly Preston, 45, Gold Meritorious Award: $1 million.
Priscilla Presley, 62, Patron Award: $50,000.

Page Six estimates Nancy’s earnings at $5.5 million a year for The Simpsons. $5.5?! That Tom Cruise is a cheap bastard. L. Ron Hubbard is probably rolling in his grave. There’s no way they can battle Thetans with that little. After they squirrel away a few dollars to their off shore bank accounts for a rainy day, there will only be $10 left. You can’t even buy dinner at a nice restaurant with that.

Homer Simpson was on Leno

Source: theblemish.com

Homer Simpson filled in for Jay Leno last night and performed his own opening monologue. It was alright. But, what’s better than alright is that Keeley Hazell showed up to the UK premiere of The Simpsons and posed next to her own character. Crazy, it looks way better than the one I made of her which is just collected hair glued onto some popsicle sticks. The boobs on it are real though! No, no they’re not. They’re just two beans. Sigh.

Madonna On The Simpsons? (spoiler alert)

Source: www.celebitchy.com

madonnasimpsonsheader.jpg
Simpsons creator Matt Groening is interested in having Madonna cameo on The Simpsons. Madonna would join other notable cameos such as Paul and Linda McCartney, several US Presidents, Stephen Hawking (my personal favourite), the Smashing Pumpkins and Mel Gibson.

Groening says, “We would love her to do the show. She’s one of the people we haven’t been able to get yet.”

Groening also assures fans that the series won’t be ending any time soon.

He added: “It’s going to carry on for another few years at least. There is no reason to stop. Our goal is to keep surprising people.”

[from NZ Herald]

The Simpsons will also be having a special Prison Break episode soon. No word on the plot, except it will feature tattoos.

Don’t forget to watch for Madonna on Live Earth this weekend. Hopefully she won’t be wearing that purple leotard.

Left side of header image is from the finale 22nd episode in the 17th season, Marge and Homer Turn a Couple Play. It originally aired May 21, 2006.

The Simpsons are coming to the big screen on July 27th!!!

Source: seriouslyomg.com

OMG! I so love that trailer and can’t wait to see The Simpsons when it comes out on the 27th!
And BTW I didn’t tell you I actually went to the Kwik-E-Mart here in Burbank and it was so bloody cool! I waited 15 minutes to get in to a 7-Eleven in 93 degree heat and then another 15 minutes to get a Pomegranate Squishee (which I don’t recommend) and 15 seconds to get a pink donut and it was so worth it! They really did a great job on the outside of the place making it look like a Kwik-E-Mart and even had an Apu Wannabe who said “Thank you come again!” as you left! Sadly though because I went on the second day a lot of the stuff was already sold out, but I can tell you the donut was almost worth not being able to get the other stuff. That donut was so good and I am not the biggest donut fan!!! So morale of the story is if you live by one of the converted 7-Elevens make sure you make an effort to go because it is so worth it! I will be going back again even though there is one 7-Eleven that is closer to where I live!
On a side note I find it interesting that Fox placed the two Kwik-E-Marts in LA in areas by the other studios and not in one by them. The Burbank one is close to Disney, Warner Bros and NBC while the Culver City one is by Sony…just a thing that made go hmmmm?
UPDATE: Orphan Annie was kind of enough to send her pictures of the Kwik-E-Mart in Culver City, Ca.

Thanks Orphan Annie!!!

The Simpsons converting 7-Elevens to Kwik-E-Marts!!!

In preparation for the release of The Simpsons movie on July 28th, 12 US 7-Elevens are converting into Kwik-E-Marts and all of them will be selling Kwik-E-Mart foods like Squishees according to Convenience Store News. One of the 7-Elevens is by me, so I am going to go and have a Squishee!!! I haven’t been this excited to go to a mini-mart since I went to a Circle-K! (If you don’t get the reference to that, please don’t tell me because it will be too much for me to handle.

Here is what the 7-Elevens Kwik-E-Marts will be carrying:

 – KrustyO’s cereal – a bright-red cereal box shows Krusty the Clown enjoying a bowlful; inside, a cereal created by Malt-O-Meal can be found. The boxes were flying off the shelves in New York, where CSNews Online overheard a store employee telling a customer that they would have to check back tomorrow, because the 50 cases the Times Square located store had were already sold out.

– Buzz Cola – packaged in a red and yellow can, individual cans or six packs were stocked on shelves and in the cooler. Buzz Cola was distributed by 7-Eleven, according to the can.

– "Radioactive Man" comic books – Bart Simpson’s favorite superhero is featured in a 32-page comic book produced by Bongo Entertainment Group exclusively for 7-Eleven. Numbered 711, the plastic-wrapped comic book has a suggested retail price of $3.99.

– Squishees – 7-Eleven’s proprietary Slurpee was also reimaged for the movie. At the New York location, customers were crowded around the machines, waiting to dispense the carbonated drinks into 22-ounce paper cups bearing the official Squishee logo.

In addition, five collectible, plastic Slurpee movie cups with scenes from "The Simpsons Movie" along with six straws featuring removable Simpson character magnets are available at stores. In New York, the magnetized straws were sold out before CSNews Online arrived.

In addition, a pink-frosted doughnut with sprinkles that can be seen in the movie’s poster, is available exclusively at 7-Eleven stores. However, unlike the television show’s Kwik-E-Mart, the Sprinklicious doughnuts at 7-Eleven are made fresh and delivered daily to the stores, the company stated.

In all, the convenience store chain will carry more than 25 items that are either recreations of products from the actual show or collectibles, including a dancing Homer doll, talking key chains, T-shirts and hats.

Thanks Rusty!

The Simpsons has 6 new posters

Source: theblemish.com

Homer Bart

Put down that toaster and get out of the bathtub, your meaningless existence has been validated with 6 new Simpsons posters. You’ll be pleased to know at least one poster contains enough comedic punch to make you tilt your head back and guffaw; gushing out enough spittle to bathe a small animal. If you’re wondering, I’m talking about the last poster after the jump. Wiener jokes are the only reason I get out of bed. I live for wiener. Hm, that came out wrong.

Getting a little uncomfortable? Good, because a disturbing story in NYDN behind Maggie’s first words, voiced by then 60-year-old Elizabeth Taylor, recounts the 24 takes necessary to de-sexualize the two syllable word, “Dad-dy.”

Groening recalls how Elizabeth Taylor once agreed to play little Maggie saying her first word, “Daddy.”
“We did 24 takes, but they were always too sexual. Finally Liz said, ‘F— you,’ and walked out.”

I always had a nagging suspicion that behind the innocent pacifier sucking was a raging slut. I’m glad Elizabeth Taylor picked up on it too.

The posters after the jump.
