Don’t unwrap Sandra Oh, she is not going get any prettier when you rip off the gift wrap.
Seriously how does Sandra Oh always manage to be the worst dressed on Awards’ red carpets?

Talk about awkward. Former cast member Isaiah Washington joined the cast of Grey’s Anatomy on the WGA picket lines on Wednesday. Washington was fired from the show after he “reportedly” referred to gay castmate T.R. Knight as a “f*g.” According to pretty much everyone who was there and has talked about it, Washington was referring to Knight. According to Washington, he was referring to himself and/or Patrick Dempsey (depending on which of his interviews you read) in a derogatory manner. However he definitely repeated the word at the Golden Globes, leading to one of the most awkward cast interviews in history.
The WGA dubbed Wednesday “Diversity Day,” and requested that writers and actors who are gay or a minority show up on the picket line. Washington is currently on NBC’s “Bionic Woman.”
Even without a script, the cast of “Grey’s Anatomy” generated plenty of drama Wednesday when they showed up to support picketing writers outside the fabled Paramount Studios lot. Katherine Heigl, who plays Izzie Stevens, and T.R. Knight, who plays her on-screen love interest George O’Malley, were posing for pictures and giving interviews - when controversial former cast member Isaiah Washington showed up. Washington, who played Dr. Preston Burke, was fired from the show in June amid tension that began when he allegedly used a gay slur to refer to Knight and used the word again during a Golden Globes appearance.
He has since apologized, met with gay leaders and checked into rehab on the advice of his handlers. Grey’s creator and writer Shonda Rhimes [who made the decision to fire Washington], considered one of the most powerful black women in Hollywood, was among those picketing at Paramount. Asked if Washington was with the Grey’s group, Heigl, who had previously publicly criticized Washington told The Daily News, “He’s not with me.”
But Washington denied there were problems with his former co-workers. “They’re former castmates. I’ve been in over 25 movies, I have lots of former castmates.” he said.
[From the Daily News]
Sounds like a pretty awkward reunion to me. And while I’m sure Isaiah Washington has lots of former castmates, to my knowledge he hasn’t referred to any of them with unsavory gay slurs. Frankly if I were in his shoes, I would try to keep a low profile for a few years and do my best to keep getting steady – but not attention-producing – work.
In other WGA strike news, there are some pretty loud rumblings that all of the late night hosts - including Jay Leno, Conan O’Brien, David Letterman, Craig Ferguson, and Jimmy Kimmel – will be returning to their shows in mid-to-late January. Though they all stood by their writers and refused to cross picket lines from the beginning, their shows have lost a massive amount of viewership and most of their staff and crew have been fired. No word on how they’ll return. One would assume less or no monologues or sketches, so probably a mostly interview format. Here’s a funny video about the strike starring Saturday Night Live cast member and writer Fred Armisen as fictional studio head/Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers member (they’re the Writer’s Guild’s foes) Roger A. Trevanti.

Yup, that’s right. Mr. Isaiah Washington just took a fabulous Prada loafer squarely in the ass.
Even though he denied that he’d be leaving Grey’s Anatomy, multiple sources have been loudly confirming that he was on his way out, and with T.R. Knight’s recent announcement that he’ll be returning to the show, the writing was on the wall in bright Shiseido red.
ABC studios stated on Thursday that Washington’s contract was not renewed for the upcoming season of Grey’s.
Isaiah, ever the beacon of good judgment in this otherwise distressing world, released the following statement, with no further explanation:
“I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore.”
That Isaiah, he’s all class.
So if you’re wondering what all that ruckus is in WeHo tonight, it’s fair to assume that T.R. Knight and Kate Heigl are somewhere at its epicenter, appletinis in hand.

LOLOLOLOLOL!!! OMFG! LOL! WTF? lololol rofl….
Excuse the immaturity; I was just trying to fit in with the cast of Grey’s Anatomy for a bit. Katie Heigl’s ContractNegotiationGate continues to spiral further and further away from the “we really are all like a family” party line everyone on that set is being forced to spout.
Just a quick refresher: early on Wednesday, the story broke that Heigl had dropped out of contract negotiations with the Grey’s producers, with a “source” stating that she was “disappointed and hurt that Touchstone doesn’t value her as much as her other co-stars.” By later in the day, Touchstone had released a rebuttal of its own: “We have a long-term contract to ensure she’ll be with the show for several years to come … we recently approached Katherine with an offer to raise her compensation significantly above the terms of her current contract. We were surprised to see this gesture reported negatively in the press.”
So can we be done with this now? No, no we cannot. Heigl struck back yesterday, releasing the following statement: “I am embarrassed that this has become a public matter and disappointed that Touchstone felt it necessary to divulge private employment information. I had hoped I would be able to deal with this issue confidentially with my bosses. I dropped out of the renegotiation simply because I wanted to treat myself with the respect I was not getting from them. No matter how unhappy I am about their decision to respond to this publicly, I continue to be passionate about and committed to this character.”
That’s nice. Stay tuned for next week, when Ellen Pompeo goes on strike because her new contract specifically stated that the vomit bags in her dressing room were to be emptied on the half hour and so can someone please explain to her how it is 12:45 and they’re still sitting there?

If I were E!, I’d be working on this True Hollywood Story already. It’s going to be more interesting than anything on the fictional show. With Isaiah Washington back from gayhab, things had started to settle down at Seattle Grace. That is, until Shonda Rhimes announced last week that Dr. Addison Montgomery (played by Kate Walsh) would be getting her own spin-off show. This didn’t sit well with the gigantic egos on network television’s most volatile set. According to an on-set source, “the rest of the cast seemed instantly resentful of [Walsh]. They each thought they’d be the one chosen to get their own show, and now they’re giving Kate the cold shoulder.” The source added that Ellen Pompeo “seemed particularly peeved because she felt that, as the star, she should have been consulted.”
I call bull on that last bit. Why on earth would Ellen Pompeo be consulted on that sort of production decision? I think even Ellen’s underfed brain knows she has no standing in who gets a spin-off. The first part, though, I totally buy.
I imagine these are factors in Katherine Heigl’s decision to drop out of contract negotiations with the show’s producers over a salary dispute. “Katie is disappointed and hurt that Touchstone doesn’t value her as much as her other co-stars, especially Sandra Oh and Isaiah Washington,” says a source. Katie’s been pissed with the producers for a long time, as she felt Isaiah wasn’t punished harshly enough for his behavior toward her BFF T.R. Knight, and, with latecomer Kate Walsh chosen for a spin-off over her, she’s probably just fuming. Plus, she knows the show can’t lose its two hottest chicks at the same time. That, my friends, would be some serious shark-jumping.

From creator Shonda Rhimes’ diary:
So, yeah, that was Denny and Dylan.
I’m trying to be all casual about it.
Like I don’t care.
Like, you know, Denny and Dylan, whatever…I’m cool, I’m good.
But I almost hugged Jeffrey Dean Morgan to death when he arrived on set. He was nice about it considering the restraining order he should have taken out against me during Season Two. I was glad to see him. And I was glad to see Kyle Chandler who was gracious enough to fly out here and film on one of his very few days off from the very well-written Friday Night Lights.
See, I miss Denny and Dylan. A lot. So it was nice to see them for a moment, wasn’t it? Even if Meredith is dead?
You all have some pretty strong feelings about this. I’ve been reading your comments. STRONG feelings. Which I respect. Grey’s is in its third season and we’re doing something a little…different. It’s about time we did. Because, just as I said when you all shouted your horror about the Meredith/George sex, I remind you that we writers like to follow the characters here and we try very hard not to make story just to make story. We like to have a point. Meredith being dead is about…well, you will see what it is about next week. She was in pain, this girl. And…
…okay, I don’t want to talk about that. Meredith being dead at the end of this episode. I can’t. Not yet.
ACK!!! ACK ACK ACK!!!
OMG OMG OMG.
And sorry for the spoiler, but if you haven’t heard this by now, you’ve been living under a rock for awhile.
Read the rest of Shonda’s commentary here.

If you have not yet seen Thursday night’s episode of Grey’s Anatomy, stop reading right now. I have written the text below in white. Highlight it with your mouse to view. If you do not want spoilers, DO NOT HIGHLIGHT!!!
I’ve been hearing rumors all week that a prominent, much-loved character on Grey’s Anatomy will die. But it can’t be Meredith! It just can’t! To echo all the other bloggers who have been posting in the past couple of hours: THE SHOW IS CALLED GREY’S ANATOMY! Has a television show at its peak ever done this before? Killed off the main character? The TITLE character??? I can’t think of an instance. Maybe Shonda Rhimes wants to redefine groundbreaking. And cliffhanger!!! THEY CAN’T DO THIS TO US!!! And what was up with Izzie at the end telling George he made a horrible mistake in marrying Callie? That was both random and bitchy. And it was way foreshadowy when Christina was telling Burke about how Meredith is her “person” and then Burke is all like “Now, you’re likening someone here to a corpse.” When I heard that I was all like “Oh, shit, Mere’s so dead.” I have to hand it to them either way, this was an incredible episode, and it reminded me just what this cast of actors, writers and producers is capable of. I guess we’ll just all have to tune in next week. DAMN IT!

T.R. Knight has become so disgusted with how the Isaiah Washington gay slur situation was handled that he may be leaving Grey’s Anatomy.
“He was told not to say anything about the whole incident. He kept his word, but then the whole thing blew up again at the Golden Globes, and when he was asked about it, he basically called Isaiah a liar. He feels that the atmosphere there is so toxic and unhealthy.”
Knight’s spokeswoman said this is “completely, one thousand percent false.” Holy bejesus. One thousand percent? I would be kind of skeptical at one hundred percent, but that one thousand percent totally convinces me.
