albamtvmovieheader.jpg
Jessica Alba hosted the MTV movie awards this year and took home the award for sexiest performance. She was honored for her role in Sin City 2.

This was the first year MTV had male and female performers compete for the same awards, with single categories not separated by gender.

“Brokeback Mountain” and “Wedding Crashers” won five awards:

Brokeback Mountain and Wedding Crashers were the big winners, scooping five awards between them.

Jake Gyllenhaal took the trophy for best performance for his role in the gay cowboy movie, and his screen smooch with co-star Heath Ledger was named best kiss.

Comedy Wedding Crashers won the best film, best screen team and best breakthrough performance awards.

Among the other winners were: Steve Carell - who won best comedic performance for The 40-year-old Virgin, Christian Bale - who won best hero for his lead role in Batman Begins, Hayden Christian - who was named best villain for Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith - and Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt scooped best fight for Mrs and Mrs Smith.

Here is Alba on the red carpet, during the show and in her press room appearance. Everything about her is gorgeous - except for her hideous shoes! Pictures [via]

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony at the ALMA awards

Source: www.celebitchy.com

lopezheader.jpg
Perhaps Jennifer Lopez has stayed with Marc Anthony for so long because she looks so damn good standing next to him. Hell anyone would look good standing next to this man. If she’s having trouble getting pregnant, it’s probably due to Marc, since he’s so obviously deficient of key nutrients. Maybe he has an intestinal disorder which would explain his foul mood and undernurished appearance.

Lest Angelika accuse us of poor research, Lopez and Anthony attended yesterday’s NCLA ALMA awards, which honor “outstanding Latino artistic achievement in television, film, and music and the enhancement of the Latino image in the entertainment industry.” The ALMA awards were hosted by Eva Longoria and will be aired Monday night June 5th at 9:30 EST on ABC. They must be right after David Blaine’s dumb special.

Anthony was honored for excellence in music:

Among the night’s highlights was a presentation of the CELIA CRUZ Award for Excellence in Music to the internationally renowned singer MARC ANTHONY. As he was accepting the award, the singer gave his famous wife JENNIFER LOPEZ, who was there supporting her hubby, a romantic shout out.

Our friends at yeeeah point out that Lopez has grey hair, but I’m younger than her and have that problem a few days a month, too, so I shouldn’t mock. I also have much less access to professional stylists, so she’s fair game: dye your roots, Jen.

Here are J.Lo and Marc Anthony looking serene and scary.

Ashlee Simpson to host the MTV Australian VMAs

Source: www.celebitchy.com

ashleeausheader.jpg
Ashlee Simpson will host the MTV Australian Video Music Awards at the Sydney Superdome tomorrow night. Her sister, Jessica, will be on hand for assumed presenting duties:

“She (Jessica) is just going to be making an appearance,” said Ashlee of her 25-year-old sister.

“She is going to be back there, getting my back and giving me high fives.”

The sisters will walk the red carpet at Sydney SuperDome tomorrow night, with a string of other international talent confirmed to attend, including James Blunt and Snoop Dogg.

“As far as inspiration for the show, I am just going to get out there and have a good time,” said Ashlee, whose parents and managers Joe and Tina Simpson are also in Australia.

“You might see me shake my booty!”

As well as hosting duties, Ashlee will perform two songs, Boyfriend and Love.

“I just usually chill out and hang out with my band,” she said of her pre-performance plans.

“I don’t like to ever think too much about anything. I just like to go with it.”

Ashlee held a press conference for the event with fellow performing act The Veronicas. Lisa Origliasso of The Veronicas is dating Simpson’s ex boyfriend, Ryan Cabrera. Simpson and Cabrera split in the summer of 2004, citing their busy schedules as young artists and a lack of time together. Simpson’s “Pieces of Me” is reportedly about Cabrera.

Here are Ashlee and The Veronicas and a couple of random ugly guys in underwear at the press conference. We also have the pictures of Jessica Simpson arriving in Sydney that you’re probably already seen.

Update: pictures of Ashlee “and her current boyfriend (and guitarist) Braxton Olita on a cruiser in Sydney Harbour.” [via]

Jennifer Tilly had 2 half nip-slips in a too-tight knitted dress, and Patricia Arquette’s makeup was hideously brown and cakey. She should have asked Alexis, her transgendered sibling, to do her makeup for her. Alexis looked well coiffed and well put together when compared to her melting sister.

Pamela Anderson gets booed at the Juno awards

Source: www.celebitchy.com

junoheader.jpg
Pamela Anderson got booed by the audience while hosting Canada’s Juno awards in Halifax, Nova Scotia last night. She brought up the controversial subject of the annual seal hunt, which is sponsored by the Canadian government. Hundreds of thousands of baby seals will be clubbed to death this year alone, and Anderson, a committed animal activist, is vehemently against the practice. Anderson tried to inject her opinion into the music award show:

“I don’t mind a little blood on the ice when it’s a hockey rink, but I hate seeing blood on the ice when it’s from baby seals,” Pamela Anderson said…

“I have high heels and they dig in deep,” Pamela Anderson added when audience booed her.

Even though we agree that it’s barbaric to club baby seals, we have to point out that it was stupid of Anderson to threaten violence to a bunch of people who didn’t want to hear about it.

The Junos looked like a good show, and featured performances by Coldplay and Nickelback.Michael Buble was the winner of the night, with four Junos for best singer, album, artist and pop album. Other winners included Nickelback for band of the year and Coldplay and The Black-eyed Peas in a joint win for best International album.

Here’s Anderson, Chris Martin, Fergie, and the bands Hedley, Nickelback, and Theory of a Dead Man at last night’s Juno awards. Hedley members drop trou to show their ass tattoos in a picture after the jump that is NSFW.

Pamela Anderson holds a press conference

Source: www.celebitchy.com

pampressheader.jpg
Anderson held a press conference to promote her appearance as host on Sunday’s Canadian Juno awards. She also spoke out against Canada’s annual seal hunt when asked about a letter she sent Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper asking for a meeting about the hunt. Paul McCartne and Bridget Bardot are among the other celebrities protesting the cruel practice of bludgeoning baby seals to death for their pelts.

Many of the reporters’ questions centered around a letter Anderson sent Prime Minister Stephen Harper requesting a meeting to discuss the seal hunt.

Harper refused, making it the second time he has turned down the celebrity’s request.

“It’s too bad. I wish he would have met me. I think it was awful he didn’t meet with Paul McCartney and Brigitte Bardot,” Anderson said.

“I think it’s a very sad situation, and as prime minister, and to have the world stage for the first time, it’s really a big mistake to keep up the seal hunt even after the outcry from all over the world against it.”

Anderson has a petition with over 50,000 signatures against the hunt, and thinks it reflects poorly on her birth country.

Anderson will host the Junos, Canada’s version of the Grammys, tonight. Coldplay, Black Eyed Peas, and Nickelback are among the performers.
