I SURVIVED A JAPANESE GAME SHOW – PREMIERES TUESDAY, JUNE 24 (9:00-10:00 p.m.) – This unscripted reality/game show takes an eye-opening, behind-the-scenes look at 10 Americans who are whisked away to Japan and compete in the ultimate Japanese game show. The results and prizing will be based on who best adapts to Japanese culture and the challenges in each episode.
OMG! This show is going to be so much fun! I can’t wait to see them trying to do Human Tetris!
BTW doesn’t this sound like a Simpsons episode?
Before George Michael embarks on his first tour of North America in 17 years he will be back on our TV tonight on ABC’s Eli Stone at 10p. In the premiere episode of the show, Eli Stone’s first visions were of George Michael, so that is why he is wondering if George Michael is really real when he actually meets him.
I can’t wait to see the “real” George Michael on tonight’s episode of Eli Stone at 10p on ABC. It looks freaking hysterical!
BTW on a George Michael note his 2-disc CD TwentyFive is out on Tuesday (my birthday) which is a greatest hits with some never-before-released duets with the likes of Paul McCartney and 6 new songs. Tickets for his North American tour go on sale on April 6th and I will be online trying to get tickets to see him sing some of my favorite songs live!!!
7 recently married couples who met and married for different reasons compete to prove how much they know each other on Here Comes the Newlyweds tonight on ABC at 10p.
• Fawziah & Atif Bajwa - An arranged marriage, this couple had only one date before their wedding, which lasted three days and had over 500 guests. Hometown: Cincinnati, Ohio.
• Dawn & Cody Freis - Cody, an airplane pilot, fell head-over-heels in love with Dawn the day he met her. To be together as much as possible, Dawn quit her job to become a flight attendant. Hometown: Denver, Colorado.
• Heather & Lance Holmes - Lance told Heather’s girlfriend that he was going to marry her the moment he saw her. They both professed their love to each other after only three months. Hometown: Middletown, Ohio.
• Kaia & Thomas Jacobi - Since they worked at the same company, Kaia and Thomas kept their romance a secret. Kaia’s father is a reverend and insisted that Thomas be baptized. Hometown: Washington, D.C.
• Dana & Steve Krashin - They were high school sweethearts and dated 11 years before they got married. Since they have been together for so long, Dana thinks Steve should have ESP and know all her thoughts by now. Hometown: New York.
• Crystal & Johnnie Moutra - Johnnie proposed to Crystal at a Houston Rockets basketball game. They live with his parents and 10 other relatives in one house. Hometown: Missouri City, Texas.
• Toni & Barry Woodward - Combined, this is their seventh marriage, which they say is their lucky number. The couple couldn’t wait to get married and their engagement only lasted one month. Hometown: Deer Park, Texas.
Here Comes the Newlyweds is a lot of fun and different than a lot of the reality shows on TV now. The 7 couple compete in competitions like the men driving blindfold and the women giving them directions, tango dancing, roasting their wives and the blindfolded husbands have to figure out if their wives are kissing them. My favorite competition is where the wives get 10 changes and the husbands have to figure out what they are…you will be shocked what changes none of the husbands get.
One of the things that makes the show different is the big prize they can go home with is $250,000 but as the challenges go on they win money to be added the added big prize.
It is also cute the way the couples interact with eachother, it is so sweet it makes me want to be a newlywed ASAP!
So tune into Here Comes the Newlyweds on ABC tonight at 10p for some fun loving!
While the networks are trying to figure out what will air this season if/when the strike ends on Wednesday, ABC is the first to start picking up shows for next season according to MediaWeek!
Among the series gearing up for a new year will be veterans “Brothers & Sisters,” “Desperate Housewives,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Lost” and “Ugly Betty.” Among the rookie crowd, the Disney-owned network is planning sophomore seasons for dramas “Dirty Sexy Money,” “Private Practice” and “Pushing Daisies,” as well as sitcom “Samantha Who?”
“The strength of our schedule this fall was unprecedented and speaks for itself,” said Stephen McPherson, president of ABC Entertainment. “We’re looking forward to building on that success.”
Hey McPherson, one word…Caveman. Before you pat yourself on the back don’t forget that show, it still haunts me. Can’t complain too much about the renewals I just wish Boston Legal was one of them! Please pick up Boston Legal.
Four ambitious, sexy women who have been best friends since business school, Mia, Zoe, Juliet and Caitlin, try to have it all. They aren’t just powerful and intelligent as singular executive sensations in a man’s world; they’ve bonded into a formidable unit a female “boys’ club” — to support and counsel each other through good times and bad. How better to climb up the corporate ladder than with your buddies at your side?
Set in glamorous New York City, where titans of media, finance, advertising and publishing reside, these driven women, who daily share their relatable and relevant problems dealing with both the boardroom and bedroom, combine their smarts, wit and humor to deal with personal and professional misfortunes and stunning triumphs. Whether it’s coping with rocky marriages, fending off scheming colleagues or just trying to find themselves in the midst of chaotic lives, these compelling women use their valuable friendship to keep centered.
So when Cashmere Mafia first premiered on ABC, I opted to skip it because I was already watching too many other shows. Then last week, I decided to catch up on the show and I am glad I did! The chemistry between Bonnie Somerville, Lucy Liu, Frances O’Connor and Miranda Otto is amazing! The storylines are original and it is great to have a show where you have 4 woman in charge who are not all bitches! The women are at different stages in their love lives, Juliette (Otto) found out her husband is cheating on her, Zoe (O’Connor) is in a happy marriage but work eats up a lot of her time, Mia’s fiance’ dumped her after she beat him out for a promotion and Caitilin (Somerville) is experimenting if you know what I mean?!? All that successful careers and social lives!
This is a great show to watch on hump day because it gives you just enough motivation to wake up and go to work for two more days. So tune into Cashmere Mafia on ABC tonight at 10p!
Driven by ambition, Eli Stone (Jonny Lee Miller, “The Flying Scotsman”) has built a successful career at a top San Francisco law firm in representing the biggest and richest corporations where “screwing over the little guy” is common practice. After experiencing a series of odd hallucinations, including a crooning vision of George Michael, Eli turns to his neurologist brother, Nathan (Matt Letsher, “The New Adventures of Old Christine”), only to be told there is nothing wrong with him. As the visions persist, he’s anxious to find the cause of his delirium and seeks the help of Dr. Chen (James Saito, “I Think I Love My Wife”), a Chinese acupuncturist who specializes in holistic medicine. Though skeptical of his practice, Eli finds Dr. Chen can help him recall important memories from his past.
While Eli is skeptical of being a prophet, his visions have helped him to recall what his father once impressed upon him — “You’re meant to do great things… speak inspired words… you’re going to help people.” With his father’s words in mind, Eli redefines his outlook on life and his intent as a lawyer, beginning with a case in which he represents an old acquaintance against one of his firm’s most important clients. Despite opposition from his imposing boss and future father-in-law, Jordan Wethersby (Victor Garber, “Alias”), and fiancée Taylor (Natasha Henstride, “Commander in Chief”), he chooses to stay the course.
Eli Stone had me when I saw that it was created by Greg Berlanti (Dawson’s Creek, Everwood, Jack and Bobby, Brothers & Sisters) and it was not a political drama. Well actually I am lying, the show had me at the promo!
I have seen 3 episodes of Eli Stone and I can’t wait to see more. The show is a mix of Boston Legal with a little Quantum Leap/Journeyman. Eli Stone is a lawyer who is all about the money until he starts getting visions that leads him to find the cases of people who really need him to help win their cases. Like in the pilot episode he hears George Michael singing Faith and he can’t stop hearing the song until he goes to an acupuncturists who helps him realize why that song will always have very special meaning to him and that meaning leads him to defending the person that it has meaning to. It is really interesting to see how the clues help him find the people to help and help him fight their case. The cases are original (a Berlanti thing) and really tug at your heart.
The cast is great in this show! Jonny Lee Miller is so likable, Loretta Divine is her typical crazy self and James Saito is amazing as the acupuncturist! But word of advice more more more Tom Amandes, please.
This is a great show for a Thursday evening, doesn’t require too many brain cells but tickles them just enough so that you are ready for your last day of work for the week!
So have Faith in Eli Stone tonight on ABC at 10p!!!
Just when you thought this week could not get any more worse for ABC’s The Bachelor when he didn’t choose either woman, well it did. Mary Delgado was arrested for punching her fiancé The Bachelor from season 6 Byron Velvick in the lip and making him bleed according to The Tampa Tribune.
Delgado was taken into custody just after midnight Wednesday on a battery charge.
Jail affidavits say Delgado, 40 – who gave the name of Maribel Liliana Delgado – punched her live-in fiancé at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday night on Park Boulevard, just east of Gulf Boulevard. She was under the influence of alcohol at the time, the affidavit says.
The paper did reach him, but he had no comment. I guess this year’s Bachelor chose right, by not choosing either girl it is safer that way.
No word if he took her back or yet another couple from the show bit the dust.

Seriously how cool is that? But isn’t it dangerous to ask people to submit a fun video for a band that has a song called Girls on Film? Especially with the video that they made for that song? OK! I am off to submit my video because I want to meet D2 in NYC!!!
(Disclaimer I have nothing to do with the contest.)
Watch with Kristin is reporting that CBS picked up The Big Bang Theory and ABC picked up Private Practice for the full season! I am not surprised that both shows were picked up because both are doing well in the ratings and they are both fun and ingenious shows to watch! Now if only CBS would pick up Moonlight and Viva Laughlin I would be an extremely happy TV watcher!!!
