Cindy Crawford is proud of her body

The day that Cindy Crawford has to come out and defend her body is the day the rest of us should go crawl under rocks. But in the wake of the Jennifer Love Hewitt “scandal” (the scandal being that she’s not a size 0, has a normal body, and had the nerve to be photographed as such) the paparazzi has been on the prowl for more unflattering photos of anyone they could get. And who better than a model? Cindy Crawford was photographed at the beach wearing a bikini. Her stomach is less-than-washboard. And by that I mean there is the world’s teeniest, tiniest bit of loose skin. You know, the kind that happens to most of the rest of us in spades after we pop out a few kids. Every other inch of Cindy appeared to be absolute perfection – but of course everyone honed in on the one “normal” area on her body and made a huge stink about how she’d let herself go. I was about eighteen shades of confused.

“I’m actually happier with my body now that I was back then because the body I have is the body I’ve worked for. When I was 23 other women could look at me and say, ‘Well, she’s never had kids.’ “But now I have and I know what it’s like to have to lose baby weight. It is a huge change for your body. You don’t even want to look in the mirror after you’ve had a baby because your stomach is hanging there like a Shar-Pei.” And the 41-year-old insists that even she is affected by the media’s pressure on women to be beautiful. She adds, “Even I don’t wake up looking like Cindy Crawford. I have fat days, ugly days, blimp days, days that I just feel terrible about myself. I don’t want to have to be beautiful all the time. “I want to be able to look cruddy in my weekend sweats, with a pimple on my face and pimple cream on top of the pimple. The expectation to be beautiful always bothers me.”

Cindy Crawford is the only supermodel I’ve ever really loved. She is crazy smart with a great head on her shoulders – in both senses of the world. Seriously, when she has to defend her body, something is just wrong with the world. I’m not going to post the stomach photos here, you can find them on the Daily Mail’s website. They captioned one of the photos “Motherhood has taken its toll on the supermodel.” 98% of us would be lucky to look like Cindy Crawford on her worst day. Let’s spend a little more time praising and a little less time criticizing.

Good Celebrity: Cindy Crawford helps Children’s Hospital LA

Source: www.celebitchy.com

It’s a “Good Celebrity” bonanza lately! Maybe as it’s fall and people are starting to get in a more holiday-esq mood, we’ll get more reports of famous people doing famous things. Cindy Crawford has always been one of those people that you can tell has her act together. She was valedictorian of her high school class with a 4.0 GPA, and won a scholarship to study chemical engineering at Northwestern. She’s always donated her time and energy to charity, as she lost a brother to leukemia when she was young.

Cindy donated her time and cosmetics from her Meaningful Beauty line to Children’s Hospital’s Mom’s Day of Beauty event, which gave mothers of sick kids a day off to rest and relax at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. How great is that?

“As the mothers arrived at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel’s peaceful penthouse suite, beauty volunteers including Cindy were there to welcome them with relaxing treatments, beauty goodies and camaraderie. ‘I lost a brother to leukemia when we were young so being involved in children’s hospitals has always been important to me. If, God forbid, something ever happened to my children, Childrens Hospital is absolutely where I would take them,’ Cindy tells OK!

“The nonprofit Childrens Hospital Los Angeles admits more than 11,000 sick children from various social and financial backgrounds each year, 50% of whom are under the age of four. It is not only recognized as the preeminent children’s hospital in the country but in the entire world. ‘I want to do anything I can to help this facility,’ Cindy says. In addition to her support for Childrens Hospital Los Angeles, Cindy generously donated her Meaningful Beauty skincare line to each of the mothers at the event. ‘I’m happy to give what I can give, but no beauty product comes remotely close to the real work people at Childrens Hospital do every day,’ she mentions.

“Though she acknowledges that the diagnoses the Childrens Hospital Los Angeles patients and their families face are devastating, she finds hope in the effort to bring attention to the hospital’s mission. ‘This is what I can do today,’ this beauty adds! ‘We can all do a little something each day just by being aware.’”

Cindy Crawford is not only gorgeous, but she seems to be a really great person too. A lot of models seems like these empty vessels, but Cindy’s always shown she has smarts. My mom relayed this joke she heard Jason Alexander (George from Seinfeld) tell on the “Tonight Show” once. He said, “On their very best day, all men believe that they could get Cindy Crawford.” Although she seems very nice, something tells me that’s not actually the case. But I do believe most guys believe it.

Picture note by Celebitchy: Cindy Crawford is shown in the header with her two children, Presley, 8, and Kaya, 6, in NY on Madison Ave. Monday. The kid with long hair hanging down is her son, Presley. She is also shown at the 6/5/07 premiere of Oceans 13 with her husband, Rande Gerber. Thanks to Splash News and PR Photos for these pictures.

Naomi Campbell Hits Out At Fashion Magazines

Source: www.celebitchy.com

Naomi Campbell believes fashion is sidelining black models, and is going to do something about it!

Speaking during a trip to Nairobi, Campbell said: “Black models are being sidelined by the major modelling agencies. It is a pity that people don’t appreciate black beauty.

“Even myself, I get a raw deal from my own country in England. For example, I hardly come on the front pages of the London Vogue magazine.

Only white models, some of whom are not as prominent as I am, are put on splash pages, I don’t want to quit modelling until I find that black models get equal prominence and recognition by the world media and information instruments,” she said.

New Zealand Herald

Campbell went on to suggest in another interview she might open up her own agency to develop modelling talent, in Kenya, where she would like to raise her children saying “I would love to see them play on the Kenyan sand barefoot. I love all this.”

Would Naomi Campbell teach at her modeling academy? I can’t imagine Ms Campbell as a warm, caring teacher nurturing young girls with model good looks. Probably because of her habit of attacking people with cell phones and battering her maids.

Naomi also referred to Nelson Mandela as her grandfather while in Africa. As soon as I understand what she was trying to say with this I’ll let you know. Was she trying to show respect? Be affectionate? Forget his name? I’m confused, maybe Naomi is too.

Picture note by Celebitchy: Campbell is shown on 02/13/07 on the runway at the Julien Macdonald Fall/Winter 2007 show. Thanks to PRPhotos.

The things Janice Dickinson makes her models do

There are some hot models in that group and they can do so much better than Janice Dickinson. I am sure this is for her reaity show, but still it is way sad for her to force her models to do that.

Saying something positive…at least Janice Dickinson kept her clothes on…sadly not enough.

Can someone please tell me what the f0ck that is? Did he maybe hit his head a little too hard when he fell of that shrub last year because he says he has been sober for a while, so what logical reason could there be for that head gear? But then again it is Keith Richards…

Size Zero models threaten to sue if they are banned from the catwalk?

Source: seriouslyomg.com

388155236_70225a0e50_m.jpgSIZE-ZERO models could sue if they’re banned from the catwalk, it was claimed yesterday. The fashion industry is thinking of forcing agencies to shun ultra-thin girls in favour of larger models. But experts say banning skinny girls could be illegal and would prompt some to sue for discrimination. Agency boss Melissa Richardson, who represents Jasmine Guinness, said: "Lots of models eat a lot and stay thin. They do not deserve to be pilloried."

Daily Record (story) and Daily Mail (photo)

I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to see a skeleton walking the runway? For example I would not want to buy the outfit that that model is wearing because the model wearing it is such a turnoff. How many people are really that naturally skinny? I say ban their a$$es until they have one!

Kate Winslett slams ultra-thin models and actresses!

Source: seriouslyomg.com

Hollywood star Kate Winslet finds the glamorization of ultra-thin "size zero" models and actresses "unbelievably disturbing" and says she keeps magazines featuring such women away from her 6-year-old daughter. "It’s so disturbing because young girls are impressionable from 11 up to 19 or 20 even. Women are very impressionable at those ages," Winslet told British Broadcasting Corp. television’s "Sunday AM" program. "They’re trying to figure out who they are, and they want to be loved, and what I resent is that there is an image of perfection that is getting thinner and thinner, and it’s truly upsetting to me." Stick-thin celebrities like Kate Moss, Nicole Richie and Victoria Beckham have been criticized as poor role models for young women and accused of contributing to the rise in eating disorders. A major fashion event in Madrid, Spain, banned ultra-thin models from the catwalk earlier this year, and other shows have indicated they plan to do the same. The 31-year-old Winslet, who burst on the movie scene in "Titanic" and stars in the current romantic comedy "The Holiday," said it was "unbelievably disturbing what’s going on at the moment" with the popularity of the ultra-thin. The British actress said she refuses to allow any magazines featuring rake-thin models into her house for fear her daughter, Mia, will see them. "It’s only a matter of time before she becomes aware of it, and it frightens the life out of me," said Winslet, who is married to director Sam Mendes. Winslet said she hoped her success will be an inspiration to others. "I hope that in some small way I’m able to say, ‘I’m a normal person, I’m doing all right.’ I’ve got a lovely husband and children and I didn’t lose weight to find those things, and those things are what should be important."

Good for her! She is so right, now if only some of the ultra-thin models and actresses would listen to what she said!

Claudia Schiffer thinks today’s models are too thin

Source: seriouslyomg.com

Claudia Schiffer says that models have become too skinny to be attractive, the Associated Press reports. "It doesn’t really look good any more," the 36-year-old says in an interview with Germany’s Bunte magazine. "Fashion looks good on thin models, but when you look at today’s models you can not help but think there is something wrong. They are way too thin. It is only bones that stick out." "Models have always been thin. But today, they are even thinner, which is unbelievable," said Schiffer, who has been on the cover of more than 550 magazines during her career. Schiffer said she was on the heavy side when she began modeling in 1988. "I was one of the fattest when I started," said Schiffer, who according to a German magazine website "Modellkartei" nevertheless has a BMI of just under 18. The Web site lists Schiffer as 5’11” and weighing 128 pounds. "Ever since I started having children, I can eat whatever I want. I eat chocolate almost every day and drink whole milk so that I don’t lose any more (weight)," said Schiffer, who has a daughter, Clementine, who turns 2 in November, and a son Caspar, 3, with her husband Matthew Vaughn. "When media started writing that I looked too thin and ill, I went to the doctor. He said I was healthy," she said. "I didn’t gain weight after the pregnancies. I hope it stays like that."

Us Magazine

Hopefully as more models and fashion designers say that models are too thin, the better the chance the too thin trend will end.
