Having dated briefly in 2007, Mandy Moore and Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein are back together. Ever since the plane crash that sent Adam to the hospital with burns all over his body, they’ve reconnected and Mandy has been giving Adam pity sex.

“Mandy said, ‘I like this guy a lot and I want to see where it can go again. Life is too short to not be with someone you really care about.’”

A witness saw Mandy and AM rubbing each other’s backs. Probably because that’s the only place which didn’t get burned. So take it from Adam Goldstein. If you want a girl who’s way out of your league to have sex with you, set yourself on fire and tell her you were in a big accident. She’ll feel sorry for you and will let you try anal or at least give you a handjob.

DJ AM was released from Doctors Hospital in August, Georgia after a week of being treated for second and third degree burns. He is currently on his way back to LA.

“While he is deeply saddened by the events he is thankful for all of the love and support he has been receiving from fans and friends world wide,” the rep said. “We ask that you continue respect his privacy as he rests and heals and mourns the loss of his friends.”

Travis Barker is still in the hospital being treated for burns on the lower half of his body. Barker’s business partner Jermaine Dupri says he should be out of the hospital in two weeks.

Good for Travis and DJ AM. Fight those burns. Don’t let fire win. Why is fire always causing trouble anyway? Why does it have to be that way? I blame its parents.

WOLO-TV put up the dash cam video from a police cruiser that responded to the scene of Travis Barker and DJ AM’s plane crash in South Carolina. You can see the fire from the wreckage and hear Travis crying for help on 911. Corners say that the two pilots died from smoke inhalation while the other two passengers died from impact related injuries. God, this must be the worst blown tire in the history of the world.

Although they remain in critical condition at the Joseph Still Burn Center, Travis Barker and DJ AM are expected to make a full recovery. TMZ reports that they may have saved their own lives by jumping out of the door of the plane immediately after it came to a complete stop. It’s unclear why the other four passengers who died didn’t do the same. The cockpit voice recorder shows that a blown tire may have caused the accident. Investigations are ongoing.

“Reasons could be anything from inflation levels, materials, punctures, design, etc. So we are doing everything in our power to learn what transpired and make recommendations so nothing like this ever happens again.”

PEOPLE also reports that Shanna Moakler rushed to Travis Barker’s side while Mandy Moore rushed to DJ AM’s. Which proves that even tragedies such as this have a silver lining. You know these guys are getting a week of bj’s once they’re discharged from the hospital. It almost makes having 90% of their body charred worth it. Almost.

Former Blink-182/Aquabats drummer Travis Barker and former Nicole Richie boyfriend Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein were seriously injured in a jet crash that killed four people in South Carolina Friday night. Among the dead were Sarah Lemmon, 31, of Anaheim Hills; co-pilot James Bland, 52, of Carlsbad; Chris Baker, 29, of Studio City; and Charles Still, 25, of Los Angeles. Baker was Travis’ assistant and Still was Travis’ security guard.

The Learjet crashed during takeoff. Air traffic controllers “saw sparks coming from the runway — whether that was from the aircraft or its engines, we don’t know.” Barker and Goldstein were seen running around the runway stripping off their clothes to put out the flames. They are in critical condition with extensive burns and are being treated at a burn center in Augusta, GA.

“They overran the end of runway 11. They impacted the antenna array and a number of lights at the end of the runway. They went through the perimeter fence and across the roadway here,” said NTSB spokeswoman Debbie Hersman, briefing reporters on Saturday. “There was a significant post-crash fire.”

I don’t want to make light of this situation, but if Travis ever wanted to get rid of a few of his tattoos, now would be a good time.

As sad as it is, I think it’s really good that more and more public figures are coming out and talking about their battles with mental illness. It takes the stigma off of it, and lets the rest of us know that we shouldn’t feel ashamed or alone, and that everyone, no matter how successful, goes through times of struggle. Nicole Richie’s ex-fiancé, DJ AM (nee Adam Goldstein) recently gave an interview to Glamour magazine in which he talks about his past struggles with drugs, alcohol, obesity, and depression. Goldstein says his addictions and mental illness had gotten so out of hand that he tried to kill himself, putting a loaded gun into his mouth.

Addicted to crack cocaine, overweight, and miserable, “at 24 I felt like my life was over,” the hot Hollywood deejay, who has dated Nicole Richie and Mandy Moore, tells Glamour magazine.

“I went into my living room, reached into a cabinet above my TV and grabbed my gun, a loaded .22,” recalls the now 34-year-old. “I sat back on my heels, cocked it and put it into my mouth. I pulled the trigger. The gun didn’t go off. I thought, ‘Are you kidding me? I’m such an [expletive] failure I can’t even kill myself? I dropped the gun and broke down. That was the turning point in my life.”

After that, DJ AM went into a recovery program where he worked on his addictions and began watching what he ate and exercising. Though he relapsed three months later, he started over again, knowing that his only options were to “recover or die.” He eventually had gastric bypass surgery, and has maintained both his sobriety and his weight loss.

“I no longer needed a trophy girlfriend or drugs to feel good about myself,” he says. “It’s been nine and a half years since I’ve had a drink or taken drugs. But every day I have to remind myself that no matter how much time I have behind me, I’m still a drug addict. At any given moment, I’m five seconds away from walking up to someone, grabbing their drink out of their hand and downing it. And if I do that, within a week, tops, I’ll be smoking crack.”

Goldstein, who is equally known for his on-again, off-again relationship with Nicole Richie (who’s no stranger to drug addictions and weight issues herself), seems to be appreciative of what he has. Whenever his ego gets a little too big, he says, “I have to remind myself [that I’m] a fat crackhead who’s lucky to be alive.”

Lindsay’s prepping to head for London to film a new movie, The Best Time of Our Lives (co-starring Keira Knightley), and decided to get all her NYC (”sober”) partying out of her system beforehand. On her to-do list: DJ AM, recently split from Mandy Moore, and Jude Law, the on-again-off-again boyfriend of Sienna Miller. Lindsay partied with the two of them until the wee hours of the morning this weekend. Her mom Dina was at her side throughout, probably because she knows her daughter can score the best blow in town.

Then if it’s not those things, then what? What could it be?! Oh snap, I got it. It must be the charisma and chiseled good looks. I have it and they don’t. I don’t mean to brag, but people don’t call me an international playboy because I fly around the world wearing a skimpy nightie with rabbit ears and a cotton tail.

It looks like unlikely hookups are dominating the news lately, because now Mandy Moore has been linked with DJ AM. DJ AM?

Just when you thought Mandy Moore and Wilmer Valderrama were headed for a reunion, now comes this: Moore and Adam “DJ A.M.” Goldstein are in the early stages of dating, a source close to the deejay tells PEOPLE.

Moore, 22, and Goldstein, 33, have known each other for years, the source says, but started spending more time together after running into each other at a New Year’s Eve party in Miami.

“It’s really new. They’re in the beginning stages of getting to know each other,” says the source. “They’re very into each other. It’s very sweet.”

There are photos of these two looking clingy with each other, so it’s possible that People’s source is bogus, but I hold them to a higher standard than the other gossip rags and believe that someone blabbed. AM could probably use the publicity.

The last we heard of Mandy she was back dating her ex, fuck ‘n tell Wilmer Valderrama, so clearly she’s desperate. AM seems to be a nice guy in comparison, judging by how long he kept going back to Nicole Richie and how little he bragged to the press about how she was in bed.

DJ AM was said to be bitching recently because he’d gained 20 pounds and wanted to tighten up his gastric bypass. Mandy Moore is recording a new album, tentatively called “Wild Hope,” due out in 2007.
