Contest: Baghead MP3 player giveaway

Source: theblemish.com

Baghead

The Duplass brothers have a new movie called Baghead opening and you can probably guess what it’s about. A guy with a bag over his head. Actually, the description says:

While the Duplass Brothers were shooting their last feature film The Puffy Chair, a crew member raised the question “what’s the scariest thing you can think of?” Someone immediately said “a guy with a bag on his head staring into your window.” Some agreed, but some thought it was downright ridiculous and, if anything, funny (but definitely not scary). Thus, BAGHEAD was born, an attempt to take the absurdly low-concept idea of a “guy with a bag on his head” and make a funny, truthful, endearing film that, maybe, just maybe, was a little bit scary, too.

And because I’m so awesome, I was given the chance to give away a Sony MP3 player. This one if you’re curious. To enter:

  1. Come up with a caption for the picture above
  2. Write it down as a comment using/leaving a valid e-mail address or email it to me at theblemish (at) gmail.com with the subject “Baghead contest”.
  3. Go clean your Real Doll.

Contest ends Friday, July 25. Check out the trailer below.

Contest: Garden Party t-shirt giveaway

Source: theblemish.com

Win a Garden Party t-shirt. I’ll be giving away 3 Medium and 3 Large (Men’s) t-shirts. They’re made by American Apparel. Not sure what Garden Party is? Me neither. The trailer is up top and the synopsis is as follows:

On the sleazier side of Sunset, teenage beauty APRIL (Willa Holland) has humble ambitions. She’s searching for a way to get by without taking off her clothes—any more than she already has. But the going is tough.

SALLY ST. CLAIR (Vinessa Shaw) is a realtor whose business has been built upon her sex appeal and secret past. Success has hardened Sally and rendered her disconnected, but it has given her a great eye for spotting lost souls in need of direction.

One such soul is her assistant, NATHAN (Alexander Cendese), who has moved to Los Angeles from Nebraska in search of fame as a dancer. Lacking drive and confidence, Nathan finds himself making late night photocopies for Sally and her clients.

TODD (Richard Gunn) is one of those prospective clients. A porn addicted artist in search of a way out of a sexless relationship and into an adventure, he’s happy to help Sally get revenge for some past indiscretions. In exchange, Sally helps Todd live out his fantasy.

Blazing his own path is SAMMY (Erik Scott Smith), a cunning, off the bus musician/street kid with his eyes on stardom. When Nathan meets SAMMY, Nathan sees a light at the end of the tunnel and maybe more than just a friend, while Sammy sees a much-needed roof over his head

When a local erotic photographer introduces April to Nathan, the dominoes fall on a series of chance encounters. And after everyone has met just about everyone else, each comes away changed in the strangest of ways.

Leave a comment below or email me with your best joke or if you’re like Wes, your hot girlfriend. 6 winners will be chosen to win the T-Shirt below. Contest ends next Tuesday, July 14.

Contest: New American Music Union ticket giveaway

Source: theblemish.com

Caption this

Because I’m so popular, someone is letting me give away two tickets to the New American Music Union festival hosted by American Eagle Outfitters (http://www.ae.com/musicfestival). Per the description:

The New American Music Union is a two day summer music festival, hosted by AEO, in Pittsburgh on August 8th and 9th. Curated by Anthony Kiedis from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the festival combines big artist like Bob Dylan, The Raconteurs, The Roots, and Spoon on the main stage with fifteen of the country’s best college bands on stage two.

To enter, think of a good caption for the picture above of Anthony Kiedis. Mine was: “Anthony Kiedis does his best canned tuna impression.” Pretty lame, but screw you, sir! If you have a better one, put it in a comment or email it to me at theblemish (at) gmail.com

Best caption will get two free tickets. Contest ends next Thursday, June 10.

Contest: The Wackness soundtrack giveaway

Source: theblemish.com

If you haven’t been living under a rock, you’d know The Wackness, opening July 3, has been getting positive buzz for a while now. And if that’s not enough, Mary-Kate Olsen is in it. That’s something, right? Hello? IMDB says:

It’s the summer of 1994, and the streets of New York are pulsing with hip-hop. Set against this backdrop, Luke Shapiro (Josh Peck) spends his last summer before college selling dope throughout New York City, trading it with his shrink (Ben Kingsley) for therapy, while crushing on his step-daughter (Olivia Thirlby).

Anyway, someone is letting me give away 5 soundtracks to the movie. I’m popular.

To win, leave a comment or e-mail me (theblemish (at) gmail.com, subject: The Wackness giveaway) by Tuesday, July 1 (preferably with a love letter or naked pictures of your hot girlfriend). Winner: The Fall giveaway

Source: theblemish.com

Winner for The Fall’s coffee table book is John Humphreys with: “Your sex fantasy is ready Mr. Cruise.” Respond to my email in 48 hours or else!

Tarsem Singh, best know for The Cell, has a new moving opening today in LA and NY called The Fall. It’s trippy and you should go watch it or at least watch the trailer for it (above). I’m not sure if there’s even a plot because it looks like one bad acid trip, but IMDB says:

In a hospital on the outskirts of 1920s Los Angeles, an injured stuntman (Pace) begins to tell a fellow patient, a little girl with a broken arm (Untaru), a fantastical story about 5 mythical heroes. Thanks to his fractured state of mind and her vivid imagination, the line between fiction and reality starts to blur as the tale advances.

And now I’m giving away a coffee table book of a bunch of images from The Fall. It is “one coffee table book of all the amazing images from THE FALL hardbound and signed by filmmaker Tarsem and star Lee Pace, these books are not for sale and will be collector items. The book is AMAZING and the images are gorgeous.”

As usual, it will be a caption contest. This one ends May 13, 2008. Picture below.

Winners: Darjeeling DVD giveaway

Source: theblemish.com

Darjeeling

The winners for the contest are as follows. There were a lot of good ones this time, but I can only pick three. As always, you have 48 hours to respond. After that, you might as well kill yourself.

  1. Ben: “Well, we’ve got the supplies. Now where did those hookers go?”
  2. Cris: “Shit, this doesn’t look like Hawaii.”
  3. G: If you thought the first eleventeen seasons of the Amazing Race were rough, you ain’t seen nothing yet.

Once again, I’ve been entrusted to do a giveaway. This time you can win a The Darjeeling Limited DVD. The Darjeeling Limited stars Owen Wilson and Adrien Brody and tells the tale of

Three American brothers who have not spoken to each other in a year set off on a train voyage across India with a plan to find themselves and bond with each other — to become brothers again like they used to be. Their “spiritual quest”, however, veers rapidly off-course (due to events involving over-the-counter pain killers, Indian cough syrup, and pepper spray), and they eventually find themselves stranded alone in the middle of the desert with eleven suitcases, a printer, and a laminating machine. At this moment, a new, unplanned journey suddenly begins.

Better than what I got stranded in the desert with. A gunshot wound to the leg and a bad case of syphilis.

Contest rules:

  1. Think of your best caption for the picture above.
  2. Write it down in a comment or email it to “theblemish (at) gmail.com”.
  3. Double check you’re using a valid e-mail address you can be contacted at. E-mail address will only be used to contact winners.
  4. Cross your fingers.
  5. One entry per person.
  6. Three winners will be chosen.
  7. Contest ends Friday

Caption contest closed. Winners being chosen.
